Although it is certain that big factors behind this success are the high level of education and labor force well known to people in Iowa, the state has been further striving for the improvement of the business environment on an ongoing basis. The state does not impose property tax, normally applied to machinery and equipment, or tax for computer. As in the case of machineries and equipment, computers used for data processing are exempt from property and sales taxes. The number of business areas is increasing in Iowa, and infusions of new capital are extremely beneficial. The Regulatory Assistance Program of the state supports companies in promptly obtaining approval and licenses from regulatory authorities. |
